Helpful Tips

1.  Sanitation is key in pest control--Make sure all food items are properly sealed and stored.  Do not leave food items out on the counter overnight.  Do not leave dog/cat food out overnight.  Clean your counters, sink, table, and stove top with household cleaner or hot, soapy water regularly.  Dispose of trash in plastic bags, seal them tightly when full, and empty trash can often.

2.  Look for  holes where tiny insects and critters can get in.  If you can find a way in, so can they.

3.  Make sure all windows and doors are properly caulked.

4.  Put tight-fitting weather stripping at the bottom of exterior doors.

5.  Install a chimney cap--a low, one-time investment, with long-term rewards.

6.  Trim tree branches that hang too close to the house.

7.  Keep all bushes and shrubs trimmed away from exterior walls and well below window sills.

8.  Remember to bathe your pets and keep them on a flea control regimen--most flea control medications also prevent heartworm, so not only will you be helping to keep fleas off of your pet and out of your home, you will also be contributing to the health and well-being of your furry pal.

9.  Do not store firewood in your garage or next to your home--at the rear of your property, mount your woodpile a couple of inches off the ground and cover it with a tarp.
